Vintage Revamp Bride: Hayley
Hayley was a bride with a sentimental vision and one of our most favorite projects yet! She married Kyle on September 2nd at a ceremony at Allure on the Lake, in Indiana. We worked with Hayley to combine two heirloom dresses into the perfect getting-ready set!
“My mom had kept my Grandma's (Mimi) wedding dress since 1951 and her wedding dress since 1987. I knew I wanted to incorporate their dresses into my big day somehow and thought this would be the perfect way to honor them!”
We took satin from her grandmother’s dress to construct the robe, and used lace elements from her mom’s dress for the pockets and sleeve edging. Her grandmother’s gown had some beautiful textured flowers so we took each individually and placed them along the neckline and back of the robe. Her top is actually the top of the slip of her mom’s dress, paired with some beaded lace elements from the original gown’s exterior. We really incorporated every key element of both gowns, from the buttons to the pearls, into a cohesive set that can be worn for years to come!
The best part of the wedding was…”Obviously marrying my best friend lol but other than that, I loved being able to look out at all of our guests and see all of our favorite people in one space. We both have decently large families and very long term friends so seeing our worlds collide was so special!”
Thank you for trusting us with your vision and family heirloom’s, Hayley! If you’re interested in having a vintage gown re-vamped into something new, or if you’re just interested in something custom for your wedding, get in touch with us at hello@golijune.com.
