Real Bride: Haley

Haley reached out to us to create custom bridal separates for her June 2022 wedding. After trying on our signature Darling Skirt at a trunk show, we were able to collaborate to design her ideal look!

we are all about bridal done your way, and we love to work with our amazing brides to create Unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that really allow them and their personal style to shine. If you’re interested in a custom bridal gown, get in touch here.

How did you decide to go through the custom gown process?

What was the process like?

The process was very easy, and Goli was so helpful. I didn't know what to expect and was a little nervous about the unknowns of the custom dress process, but Goli took my thoughts and ideas about what I did like and envisioned for my dress and brought it to life better than I could have ever imagined or hoped for. From the custom sketches of different versions of my dress to sending me tons of different fabrics, any nerves I had about the process she put at ease every step of the way. She offered me virtual appointments from home where we were able to talk through dress ideas and also offered personal fitting appointments from her studio in Chicago, which was so cute and so fun! I loved seeing the materials before making a selection, trying on the dress a few times to get the perfect fit, and just watching my dream dress come to life every step of the way!

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

Our vows were my favorite part of our wedding because they were so personal to us. Writing our vows allowed us to have a ceremony that represented our love for each other, not something generic. They were words we were comfortable with, words we wanted to say, and words we wanted to share with the people who are close to us. It was something that we could do together, and it filled us both with so much happiness and excitement to get to say and put into words our love for each other.

I did not have a strong vision for my wedding dress, but I always liked the idea of a two-piece. After a few rounds of wedding dress shopping and trying on more than a handful of dresses, I wasn't finding anything that felt like me. The one piece I found along the way that I loved was the "darling" skirt by Goli June at a trunk show. I tried it on with the top designed with it, which solidified my decision for a two-piece. While the type wasn't quite right for my wedding, I knew I finally found my style. So I began the hunt for a top for the darling skirt, but again, nothing was quite what I was looking for, and I was concerned that the colors and materials wouldn't match. After researching Goli June, I realized she was located in Chicago, so I decided to reach out to see if she offered custom pieces. I'm so glad I did because the top she created was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. There's no way that I could have found something that I felt so myself in.
